  Reinventing the Wheel 101

Hi: and just so you know who is talking to you I am Fred Seven.

After a bad fall and a lot of doctors, sending me to at least a Google's worth of therapist.
I saw a pattern in the fact that all of them put me on a bike.
I learned to not like the experience. Peddling for 30 minuets on a bike that didn't go any where is boring { IMO --- LOL,} But I saw the good it was doing me.
So I got a real bike, only to find it was to hard to peddle. Weeks later I added a electric motor, this helped with the peddle part, but the battery had a short driving distance of only 20 miles. The addition of a gas engine made the perfect bike, fast takeoff with the electric motor, the gas engine for range and the peddles for my health. Over the years I have made a large improvement in the strength of my back muscles, my breathing and overall health.

I think anyone who tries this type of motor-assisted bike will like it. But enough about me and now a little class in,
--- The Wheel ---

We¹ve reinvented the wheel. The Track Tru-Wheel System is designed exclusively for motor-assisted bicycles. The 26'' Sunrims (brand) rim is outfitted with a custom adapter --- a 44-tooth sprocket that applies the motor's torque to the wheel's hub rather than to the spokes. As a result, the entire rim (and not just a few spokes) carries the load of the motor. With this wheel system maintenance is reduced to a minimum !

If you¹ve ever converted a street or mountain bike to a motorized bicycle. If you are familiar with the effect gas engines have on the rear wheel. The weight and vibration of these small engines, plus frequent jump-starts note 1 loosens the spokes and the rims go out of round.

Some cyclists are willing to dedicate several hours a week to tightening each spoke on the rim, being careful to maintain the straight, and round (or true) configuration of the wheel as they do these time-consuming adjustments. Many are not up to this maintenance and solve the problem by replacing their rear rim with a new one every few months. Some shy away from purchasing gasoline motor conversion kits for their bikes because they¹ve heard of these problems.

The Track Tru-Wheel System rim is the only one designed exclusively for motorized bikes. It is the only one outfitted with a custom adapter for mounting the motor sprocket to the wheel's hub rather than to the spokes. The 26'' rim is a standard size that fits most bicycles.

note 1The common method to start a bike's gas motor requires the rider to pedal the bike up to a certain speed and then let go of the clutch -- called a jump-start. Each time you stop for a traffic light or stop sign, this routine is repeated. Jump-starts put an extra strain on a motor-assisted bike's rear rim and spokes if the motor sprocket is mounted to the spokes.

As figure 1 shows we did not mount the sprocket to the spokes.

Instead we mounted the sprocket to the hub. This makes all the wheel's spokes carry the lode. As in figure 2 and 3

The wheel in figure 4 is my wheel so you can't have that one. But we will be happy to make one for you. The tire and tube is only for show.

Since the choice of tire is the single most effective and reasonably low-cost way a rider can affect and improve [or degrade] the performance of his [or her] bicycle Given the wide range tires treads and types of riding styles, I thank I'll let you get the type, that fits your needs. We use a good wheel right from the start. The one we chouse is made by Wheel Master. They sport the made in the USA status and are holding up very well.

The sunrims  spoke holds are reinforced to add strength and durability.

This wheel [ less our sprocket and custom adapter ] sales for around $120.00 USD,in your local bike store. I know that there are cheeper wheels out there, also some wheels may go for as much as a thousand dollars. The idea here is to make a good wheel and still keep the bikes in the cheep mode of transportation bracket.

This wheel system has been road tested  by me for over 900 miles in Tucson, Arizona, and the spokes are still tight and the rim runs true! So far, it has not needed any adjustments!

This wheel system was designed and patent by Freedom Bikes U.S.A. LLC. and in calibration with Steel-Lines LLC.
